Feeling tired, overwhelmed, or in need of peace, strength or relief? Then we'd love to see you at our service of healing and wholeness on Thursday evening at 7pm.

Christian healing is concerned with God meeting us at our point of need. Healing isn't just physical, it's about restoring hope, finding peace and reconnecting with yourself, others and God.

During the familiar service of Holy Communion, there will be several opportunities for receiving healing prayer – through the music, the prayers, silence and the bread and wine.
There will also be opportunities to receive laying on of hands with prayer for healing, and anointing with oil. This is entirely optional.

We hope you'll join us for this gentle welcoming service, open to all.**Date for your diaries – Thursday 17th October @ 7pm ** – Service of healing and wholeness.
This reflective service will follow the familiar structure of Holy Communion, with an overarching theme of healing and wholeness.
After receiving the bread and wine (or a blessing), there will be an opportunity to receive the laying on of hands, the prayer for healing, and/or anointing with oil.
There will be no obligation to receive these elements of ministry, in the same way as there is never any obligation to receive the bread and wine. You may just prefer to come along and seek healing in mind, body and spirit, through the words, prayers, music, silence and the presence of others.

FAQs

  • There’s no dress code – come as you are!
  • We’re an inclusive group of people of all ages and from all sorts of backgrounds, so don’t worry, you’ll fit right in!
  • We have a small car park. You’re welcome to use it if there’s a space free (we just have a couple of bays reserved). You can also park close by on the street.
  • Someone will welcome you at the door and hand out anything you need to follow the service
  • You’re welcome to sit anywhere

We have:

  • Step free access.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • Toilets in the hall with baby changing facilities.
  • Sound system with a hearing loop.
  • Space for wheelchairs – our welcomers will help you to find a space.
  • Large print words available – just ask the welcomers.
  • If you need a gluten free wafer please ask one of the welcomers on your way in.
  • If you’d like to receive communion or a blessing, but would find it awkward to come up to do so, just let the welcomers know and we’ll come to you!
  • Nothing’s compulsory! You don’t need to join in anything unless you want to.
  • You’ll be able to follow the service (including when we usually stand up and sit down) in the booklet you were handed at the door. Just ask anyone if you need help.
  • There’s a collection in the 9:15 am service, but please don’t feel you have to give.  Many of our regular worshippers give by standing order or direct debit, so quite a few people don’t put anything in the basket when it’s passed around: it won’t look odd! Thank you in advance for any donation you would like to make!
  • You’re welcome to take bread and wine with us if that’s what you are used to doing (we welcome all Christian traditions). If you would prefer a blessing, hang on to your service sheet as you come up to the front with everyone else and we’ll know that’s what you would prefer. Some people prefer just to stay where they’ve been sitting, so you won’t feel awkward if you don’t want to come forward.
  • The 9:15 am service on Sunday lasts about an hour (slightly shorter on the first Sundays of the month).
  • The service always has a mixture of hymns, Bible readings, a sermon or children’s talk, prayers and Holy Communion.
